'USING' MARIJUANA Congrats to Peter Hecht on an excellent article on the weed situation in California. One source of confusion in all these statistics: I rarely use marijuana and have friends who would be considered casual to frequent users. None of us smoke. When we imbibe it is with edibles. So many of the statistics quoted in the article involve those who "smoke" marijuana rather than those who "use" marijuana. While I am not sure what percentage of users do it through edibles, it is a sizable number. This leads to a fair amount of uncertainty in the statistics quoted. Many respondents to the poll questions would say "no" when asked if they smoke weed, while they are still users. Jeff Duerr, Roseville - --- MAP posted-by: Jo-D
