DIFFERING INTENTIONS

The Reporter editorial may be mistaken ("Marijuana law needs limits:
Legislature can help," April 5) in stating: "When California voters
approved the Compassionate Use Act, they wanted to protect legitimate
patients from being harassed for their medical use of marijuana. They
didn't intend to allow just anyone to grow or sell it."

That may be an accurate statement for some voters, but for many who
wish to end cannabis prohibition, that was a vote for more than
simply allowing sick citizens access to the God-given plant.

As a Colorado Christian who voted to legalize cannabis for medical
usage, I think the goal is to end the sin of cannabis prohibition,
persecution and extermination. But first we must get the wounded off
the battlefield.
