SNITCH LINE IS TOTALITARIAN

Re: "City approves pot snitch line," the News, April 17, 2009.

Didn't the Soviets have snitch lines to root out people who did 
things the government didn't like? Or was it the Americans during the 
"anti-commie" McCarthy-era of the 1950's? Or maybe it is present-day China?

Silly me -- I keep getting these totalitarian regimes' tactics mixed up.
