POT SHOTS

So, Margaret Wente is worried that advertising would send youth's pot
use into a degree of overwhelming popularity seen usually by tobacco,
overeating and alcohol? With legalization comes regulation, and I
would be surprised if any Canadian government, especially a
Conservative one, wouldn't present some anti-advertising laws
paralleling those applied to tobacco companies. Public awareness and
education programs would become more widespread, as they have with
tobacco. This can only reduce the harm being done. Then again, Ms.
Wente doesn't seem to like harm reduction.
