CANNABIS IS NOT A DEMON DRUG

Kudos to the Edmonton Sun for not buying into the drug war propaganda
and to Jeremy Loome for writing an intelligent, thoughtful article on
the legalization of marijuana ("Forget facts, common sense or
decency," Nov. 15, 2008). For the life of me, I cannot understand what
holds this prohibition in place. As Loome points out, study after
study has shown that cannabis is not a demon drug and is actually
relatively harmless. Its problems pale in comparison to the
devastation of the drug war. It will only change when everyone who
recognizes the madness starts speaking up about it, and loudly.
