I am somewhat amused at Board of Supervisors Chairman Bill Horn's recent remarks in his state of the county address. Specifically, he stated that "the state has ordered us to issue identification cards that let people buy and use marijuana. That violates federal law." Horn then states that the county is "standing up for our constituents, and we are asking the courts to support this decision" to bring suit to drop that order. Would he please explain how his objection to the use of medical marijuana, which was approved by 65 percent of Californians in Proposition 215, constitutes standing up for his constituents? Are we to assume that Horn represents only a small minority of voters? Andrew R. Vaino, San Diego - --- MAP posted-by: Derek
