THOSE WHO WANT POT, DO POT David Molinski's March 8 letter (Legal pot won't work) suggests that legalizing pot would lead to a significant increase in the number of impaired drivers on Canadian roads and streets. This is a fallacious argument as it makes the assumption that legalized pot will undoubtedly see an increase in marijuana consumption. It is apparent that anyone who chooses to smoke marijuana already does so regardless of the law as it stands and those who choose not to smoke pot do so for personal reasons; not because it is illegal. So why would anything be different when pot becomes legal? Steve Connell Edmonton (Potential users do abstain because they're afraid or unwilling to break the law, and in some cases because they can't find any.)
