ALL HARM IN PROHIBITION

Dear Editor,

Even if it would work, and I very much doubt it would, good luck winning an
election with a platform on the idea of having the taxpayer pay for free
drugs for users [Solution with merit, Nov. 26 Comment, Langley Advance
News]. Why not offer free booze for alcoholics and free smokes for tobacco
addicts?

Enough. When will our so-called opinion leaders begin to understand that
illegal drugs will continue to inflict harm and heartbreak on users and
non-users alike, until drug prohibition is ended and users of heroin,
cocaine, etc. can once more purchase cheap, clean, quality-tested drugs at
the corner store, as tobacco users currently do?

Think of all the money we would save.

Now there's a policy the hard-pressed taxpayer can support.
