RESULTS OF PROHIBITION OF CANNABIS

THE SUN chooses such interesting headlines for its pieces. I refer to the
article, "Feds moving too fast on marijuana, MADD says," May 11. What a
revelation: more than 30 years after the LeDain commission is "too fast"
for MADD. I guess they liken the movements of glaciers to the speeding
bullet. The litany of justifications for caution in this area lists many of
the results of prohibition of cannabis, and nothing related directly to the
substance itself. Therefore, if read from a logical point of view, the
piece supports decriminalization, if not outright legalization. It would
have been nice to have had a logic-based analysis of the situation to go
along with the hyperbole you printed.
