AN IMMUTABLE LAW

To the editor:

Major kudos for your outstanding editorial, "Folly in Colombia" (Jan. 16).

Our counterproductive war in Colombia will stop cocaine from coming into 
the United States right after we figure out how to change the law of 
gravity. The law of supply and demand is just as immutable as the law of 
gravity.

As long as there is a demand for cocaine in the United States, somebody 
somewhere will fill it.
