To the Editor of The Arkansas Democrat-Gazette:
I'm writing about your not-so-thoughtful editorial: "A Disturbing Poll"
(11-24-15).
It is disturbing to me that your editorial board opposes the use of a
natural herb that has never killed anybody in the
five thousand year history of its use.
It seems to me that all Arkansas adults should have the freedom of
choice to use cannabis. Not just those who need it to treat
disease.
Cannabis not only relieves pain and suffering but it also prevents many
diseases such as cancer and Alzheimer's. Cannabis is
one of the most powerful anti-inflammatory substances on the planet and
chronic inflammation is the root cause of most
diseases of the human body.
I strongly urge the readers to read: "THE POT BOOK: A Complete Guide to
Cannabis": Its role in medicine, politics, science and
culture." It is edited by Julie Holland, MD.

I totally agree with Alan Williams' thoughtful letter: "Riddle me this:
Exactly what do Republicans 'conserve?'" (11-29-15).
It seems to me that Progressives and Independents should stop using the
word: conservative. The opposite of
Progressive is not Conservative, but rather: Regressive.
