To the Editor of The Chicago Sun-Times:
I'm writing about Peter Bensinger's not-so-thoughtful letter: "El Chapo
to blame for
Chicago's drug violence" (7-16-15). About a hundred years ago Coca-Cola
contained
cocaine instead of caffeine and sold for 5 cents a bottle. Back then
drug lords, drug
cartels and even drug dealers as we know them today didn't exist.
These all exist today for one reason: Prohibition.

To the Editor of The Longview News-Journal:
The only way to get rid of 'El Chapo" and future El Chapo's is the same
way we got rid
of the likes of Al Capone: full legalization. Not
decriminalization--full legalization of all
now illegal drugs.
What message would this send to our children? A free country's
government cannot protect adults
from themselves and a free country's government has no right attempting
to do so.

To the Editor of The Arizona Republic:
So a man breaks into the home of a 91-year-old woman and rapes her and he
receives only fourteen years? Yet we have gardeners sentenced to
multi-decade
in prison for gardening (growing marijuana). Is something wrong with
this? I certainly
think so.

To the Editor of The San Diego Union-Tribune:
Caffeine is a drug. Millions, if not billions are addicted to it, myself
included.
How much crime and corruption do we have related to it? None. None
whatsoever.
Why? It is legal.
Criminalize caffeine and the situation would soon change.
