To the Editor of The Palestine Herald Press:
Thanks for publishing Froma Harrop's thoughtful column: "Crashing
Federal Hypocrisy On Pot" (12-14-12).
I'd like to add that those who think that marijuana prohibition somehow
protects our children and society, I'd like them to view this short You
Tube video featuring former California Superior Court Judge James P.
Gray:http://tinyurl.com/6m3qmxh
Those who are not reading this online go toYoutube.com and search for
"Judge Jim Gray."
You will see that marijuana prohibition substantially increases all
other crime. Back in the 1960's police solved more than ninety percent
of all homicides. Today they solve just over sixty percent of all
murders. Why? Because of our so-called war on drugs. There are great
financial incentives for police to make drug busts and confiscate the
drug dealers money and property but no financial incentive to solve
rapes or murders.

I suggest the readers go theYoutube.com and search for "Judge Jim Gray"
to find out why our drug war continues. While they are onYoutube.com I
suggest they also search for
"Law Enforcement Against Prohibition." I believe these videos will
change your mind about our drug prohibition policies. Unless you have a
vested financial interest in maintaining the status quo.
