If you write it I'll get it edited. In fact we have all kinds of direct mail material already prepared from one page flyers to a full blown "generic grant proposal. If you gather contact info, and mail whatever to whoever, I'll certainly reimburse postage. If you get a phone number where we can follow up I'll see to it a follow up call is made. I can't promise I'll be all that involved (see my previous explanations) but I would have been out of here years ago (and probably been institutionalized :~) if I wasn't able to delegate to those who can get the job done.
In fact if you or anyone actually hit a homer and generated any results I'm sure I'd try to find a legal way to compensate you in the form of some kind of a "finders fee" or some such. Kick backs, as such, are questionable from a legal perspective for a non profit fund raiser but there are many ways to skin a cat.

Asking for a donation from Paul McCartney seems difficult. Getting a
donation would definitely be a long shot. (Here's a comment from a
CMAPer: "I wouldn't make too many assumptions about Sir Paul's current
opinions regarding cannabis. His new wife did convince him to quit smoking
it since she finds it abhorant. He's also a well known skin flint. I've
heard stories of him throwing parties and having a cash bar. Pretty damn
cheap for a billionaire, in my opinion.")
But...
Did you know that Paul McCartney was once an activist?
Back in the olden days of the Summer of Love there was a full-page
advertisement in the Times (London) - Monday, July 24, 1967.
The title was:
the law against marijuana is immoral in principle and unworkable in practise
Among those who signed it were all of the Beatles.
The moving force behind the petition was the American psychologist Steve
Abrams. He says today:
"I went with my friend Miles to see Paul to discuss my plans for the
advertisement. Miles (of the Indica bookshop and the International Times)
had the freedom to come and go with Paul. Paul was easy to talk to, like
someone you've known for a long time. His position was perfectly
responsible. He knew the power of the Beatles, the power of their making
or not making endorsements. Though they didn't particularly want the
publicity, he was willing to guarantee the cost of the advertisement. In
the end it proved impossible to keep his financial involvement a secret."

Paul McCartney's coat of arms shows a bird clutching a guitar.
All you need is love (and, of course, a Latin motto): Paul McCartney -
ummm, Sir Paul, I mean - now has his own coat of arms. What a creep he's
turning into.
I mean, I like coats of arms. They're wonderful for the family of Sir
Cholmondely Farnsworth-Bandicoot, 17th Earl of Chipping Sodbury, and people
like that. They're great for ancient universities, towns founded by the
Romans, and outfits like the Ancient and Honourable Guild of Cloth
Founders, whatever they might be. But for a pop star from Liverpool?
Paul is having severe delusions of grandeur, I think. There was that
business about putting his name before John Lennon's in credits, and now
this. It turns out that he applied for the arms - anyone can do so,
apparently, with only the fear of mockery deterring everyone from it - in
1997, the same year he was knighted. His official arms, now approved, shows
a bird called a liver (as in Liverpool) clutching a guitar - fine old
heraldic symbol that is - with the motto Ecce Cor Meum, which means Behold
My Heart. You might recall that he wrote an oratorio by that name, the
pretentious twit.

SIR Paul McCartney is in grave danger of alienating his fans in a row over
his song credit, a Liverpool Beatles experts said last night.
The musician has been fighting with Yoko Ono over whether he has the right
to put his name before John Lennon's in song credits.
Ono is threatening to sue him after he changed the traditional credit
Lennon-McCartney to "by Paul McCartney and John Lennon" on his new live album.
Jean Catherall, of the Beatles fan magazine, Beatles Scene, said: "I think
Sir Paul McCartney is in danger of alienating a large number of fans by
appearing to care so much about a petty thing like this.
"People know that Hey Jude and Yesterday were written by him without this
action.
"He's in grave danger of making peo-ple remember him for this, rather than
for his music and his personality."
She added: "Originally, Lennon always came first because it was a
convention within music companies at that time to put names in alphabetical
order.
"After a while, the phrase Lennon, McCartney stuck and they kept it even
when Harrison had collaborated and should have had precedence because of
the 'H' in his name.
"I understand that it was never a written part of the contract but a spoken
agreement.
"Most real Beatles fans don't care about which order the names appear
because they know who penned which song. And, as for the casual fans - I
doubt they read the small print or care very much."
Popular music expert Spencer Lee agreed: "I think it's a bit ridiculous for
McCartney to be doing this so late in the day.
"In fact, on their very first single, Love Me Do, the credit was
McCartney/Lennon.
"I think the record company must have persuaded them that it sounded better
the other way around.
"I don't know what the legal validity is. It would be most interesting to
see it tested in court." However, other Beatles fans said they would be
happy for McCartney to have his name put first on the songs he wrote.
Jerry Goldman, director of the Beatles Story museum at the Albert Dock,
said: "He is a great artist and John Lennon was a great artist.
"Great artists feel very proud of their work, so if he thinks it is
important to have his name first then why not? It has always been
Lennon-McCartney so why not have McCartney-Lennon on occasion? Yoko Ono has
taken on the mantle of John Lennon and she carries the pride he felt in his
work."
Rod Davis, who played with John Lennon in The Quarrymen skiffle group,
added: "I can understand why Paul feels that he should get proper credit
for the songs he wrote. I suppose on balance he should take his name off
songs that John wrote, so perhaps it would be better to leave well alone."
